Greek island pictures of Glossa on Skopelos island
This page with Greek island pictures of Glossa will give you an idea of the second important village, situated in the North West of the island.
Perched high in the hills above Port Loutraki, which is only about 15 minutes from the island of Skiathos with our closest airport, the village sits majestically on the hillside and enjoys incredible views over the Aegean Sea with some scattered islets around.
The narrow streets and traditional houses make you swift to ancient times. Glossa is so full of atmosphere. There are ruins dating back as long as 400 BC, but really exceptional is, that Glossa is a healthy community, a society, where the young and elder are pleased to greet each other in the morning and everyone will find the time to ask how the others' day went.
Cars are not used within the narrow streets, you can park just outside the village. Glossa is absolutely worth a visit. You should plan for a tasty coffee right at the start of town or for fine dinner with a great view over the scattered islands at "Restaurant Agnanti". During high season reservation is suggested here. Please enjoy the pictures!
